Beginner

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

    The vintage inspired dress pattern

    Sew a dress for your next party! Frankie is a woven dress with a memorable silhouette, perfect for florals, jewel tones, or even a little sparkle. This dress has a fitted waist yoke and 6-gore gathered skirt. The V-neck is finished with a facing and lined yoke that gathers slightly below the shoulders. The sleeves are full length with elastic at the hem, and it keeps a sleek fit with an invisible zipper at the side seam.

    Light to medium weight woven fabrics such as linen, chambray, batiste, lawn, voile, rayon challis, cupro, and tencel.

    All-purpose polyester sewing thread, topstitching thread, sewing machine needle, lightweight fusible interfacing, 12” invisible zipper, invisible zipper foot. 

    Refer to size chart for amount of fabric needed for your size.

    Felicia is wearing a size 4 Frankie dress. We graded to an 8 at the waist and hips, lowered the armhole and waist, lengthened the sleeve, and made a broad shoulder adjustment.Her measurements are B: 34 1/2" (87.5 cm) W: 29" (73.5 cm) H:39" (99 cm) and she is 5'8" (172.5 cm) tall.

    Morgan is wearing a size 20 Frankie dress. Her measurements are B: 48" (122 cm) W: 41" (104 cm) H: 52" (132 cm) , and she is 5'9" (175 cm) tall.

    Our Misses patterns are drafted for a C cup and our Curvy patterns are drafted for DD. Both are drafted for a height of 5'8" (172 cm).
