We created our skill levels according to the techniques required to sew each pattern, but our patterns will teach you everything so don't be afraid to sew above your skill level!

Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. These patterns focus on the basics like sewing and finishing straight and curved seams, hemming, and simple shaping methods such as darts and gathers. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

    The knit jacket sewing pattern

    Andi is a knit jacket with a gender-neutral fit that hits right below the high hip. It features drop shoulders and a elastic casings at the sleeves and waist. The jacket closes with snaps up the center front all the way to a stand collar. The clever pockets are sewn into the side seam with a welt opening, for a polished look.

  • Fabric & Supplies

    Medium to heavy weight knit fabrics with up to 25% stretch, such as sweatshirt fleece, fleece, French terry, and sherpa knits.

    All-purpose polyester sewing thread, ballpoint sewing machine needle, ___ snaps, 1” braided elastic, and knit interfacing.

    Refer to size chart for amount of fabric needed for your size.

    00 – 30

  • Sizing & Fit

    For Sarah we made a size 00 and added 1/2" to the sleeve length.

    For Tambrie we made a size 18 from the 12-30 size range and added 1" to the body length and 1/2" to the sleeve length.

    For Ryan we made a size 20 and added 1 1/2" of length to the body.
