Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

    The Elegant Slip Dress

    The Ash dress is a simple, elegant slip dress, perfect for easy layering and designed for lightweight, breezy woven fabrics.

    Ash features a subtle V-neckline at the front with adjustable straps for a customizable fit. The upper torso is lined for a clean, polished finish at the neckline and armholes. The dress is designed with a French dart, ensuring a smooth fit. Practical side slits at each side seam add a touch of ease and movement, while the center back seam completes the streamlined silhouette. The Ash dress is your go-to piece for effortless style and comfort.

  • Fabric & Supplies

    Light to medium weight woven fabrics such as linen, chambray, batiste, lawn, clip dot, double gauze, rayon challis, rayon crepe, cupro, silk, and Tencel. Sophia is wearing light blue linen, and Franki is wearing green viscose.

    All-purpose polyester sewing thread, sewing machine needle, two 3/8” O rings, two 3/8” adjustable strap sliders, and point turner.

    Refer to size chart for amount of fabric needed for your size.

  • Sizing & Fit

    Sophia is wearing a size 2 Ash dress. We raised the waist point 1/2" and added 2" to the body length.Her measurements are bust: 33 1/2" (85 cm), waist: 25" (63.5 cm), hip: 36 1/2"(92.75 cm), and she is 5'8" (172.75 cm) tall.

    Franki is wearing a size 18 from our 12 - 30 size range. We reduced the neck/shoulder width by 1/2" each side, lowered the dart 1", and increased the bust and upper bust 1 1/4". Franki is 5' 6 1/2" (169 cm) tall and her measurements are bust: 47 1/4" (120 cm), waist:39" (99 cm) and hip: 49 1/2" (126 cm).

    Our Misses patterns are drafted for a C cup and our Curvy patterns are drafted for DD. Both are drafted for a height of 5'8" (172 cm).
