We created our skill levels according to the techniques required to sew each pattern, but our patterns will teach you everything so don't be afraid to sew above your skill level!

Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

    Light to medium weight woven fabrics such as chambray, poplin, quilting cotton, denim, flannel, twill, linen, and linen blends.

    All-purpose polyester sewing thread, sewing machine needle, lightweight cotton batting, four 5/8” (15 mm) snaps,  optional: 25 mm sized bias tape maker, water-soluble marker or chalk, clear ruler, press cloth, and walking foot.

    Refer to size chart for amount of fabric needed for your size.

  • Sizing & Fit

    Hayle is wearing a size 2 Basil jacket. We added 1 1/2" to the body length and 2 1/2" to the sleeve length. Her measurements are bust: 33 1/2" (85cm), waist: 25 1/2" (64.8cm), hip: 38" (96.5cm), and she is 5' 11" (180.3cm) tall.

    Morgan is wearing a size 20 Basil jacket with no adjustments. Her measurements are bust: 48" (122 cm), waist: 41" (104 cm), hip: 52" (132 cm), and she is 5' 9" (175.25 cm) tall.

    Our Misses patterns are drafted for a C cup and our Curvy patterns are drafted for DD. Both are drafted for a height of 5'8" (172 cm).
