Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. These patterns focus on the basics like sewing and finishing straight and curved seams, hemming, and simple shaping methods such as darts and gathers. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

    The neckline features a relaxed mock neck for a modern, polished look, while the fitted shape through the bust, waist, and hips celebrates your curves.

    Medium weight knit fabrics with 4-way stretch and at least 50% stretch, such as cotton jersey, bamboo jersey, rib knits, and ITY knits.

    All-purpose polyester sewing thread, ballpoint sewing machine needle, and ballpoint twin needle. Optional: 1/2 yard (.5 meters) of knit stay tape or knit interfacing

  • Sizing & Fit

    Janiah is wearing the Greer dress in a size 2, graded to a 0 at bust and a 4 at the waist and hip. We removed 1/2" of length from the armhole depth and 1" from the waist to hip, and added it back to the skirt length.Her measurements are bust: 33" (83.8 cm), waist: 27" (68.6 cm), hip: 37 1/4" (94.6 cm); and she is 5'7" (170.25 cm) tall.

    Crosby is wearing a size 16 Greer Dress from our 12-30 size range. We removed 1" from the waist, added 1" to the sleeve length and 2" to the body length. Her measurements are bust: 44" (111.75 cm), waist: 36" (91.5 cm), hip: 48" (122 cm); and she is 5'10" (177.8 cm) tall.

    Our Misses patterns are drafted for a C cup and our Curvy patterns are drafted for DD. Both are drafted for a height of 5'8" (172 cm).
