We created our skill levels according to the techniques required to sew each pattern, but our patterns will teach you everything so don't be afraid to sew above your skill level!

Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. These patterns focus on the basics like sewing and finishing straight and curved seams, hemming, and simple shaping methods such as darts and gathers. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

  • Description

    Luxsy is a knit fit-and-flare dress with two versions that each deserve a place in your wardrobe. This dress has a squared scoop neckline, princess seams at the armholes, an A-line skirt, and a lined bodice. You can wear this dress in all seasons because version 1 features 3/4-length sleeves and version 2 is sleeveless.

    Medium weight knit fabrics with 50% 4-way stretch such as cotton jersey, interlock jersey, double knit, and modal/rayon blends.

    All-purpose polyester sewing thread, Ballpoint sewing needle, Ballpoint twin needle, 1 1/2 yards (1.4 meters) of 1/4" (6 mm) knit elastic

    Refer to size chart for amount of fabric needed for your size.

    Zane is wearing a size 4 Luxsy dress with a broad shoulder adjustment. Her measurements are 35 1/2" (90 cm), 27 3/4" (69 cm), 40 7/8" (104 cm), and she is 5' 9" (1.7 m) tall.

    Kenzie is wearing a size 16 Luxsy dress with the skirt lengthened by 1 1/2” (3.8 cm). Her measurements are Her measurements are 43 1/2" (110 cm), 37 3/4" (96 cm), 45 3/4" (116 cm) and she is 5'6" (1.7 m) tall.

    Our Misses patterns are drafted for a C cup and our Curvy patterns are drafted for DD. Both are drafted for a height of 5'8" (172 cm).
