Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. These patterns focus on the basics like sewing and finishing straight and curved seams, hemming, and simple shaping methods such as darts and gathers. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

    Taylor is a timeless woven wrap dress with long princess seams, full gathered sleeves finished with an elastic casing, and a tie at the waist. Trust us, the seaming on this pattern is worth the time it takes to sew the dress.

    Light to medium weight woven fabrics such as linen, chambray, batiste, lawn, voile, rayon challis, cupro, and Tencel.

    All-purpose polyester sewing thread, Sewing machine needle, 1 yard (.9 meters) of lightweight fusible interfacing, Loop turner, Point turner, 5/8 yard (.6 meters) of 1/4" (6 mm) braided elastic

    Refer to size chart for amount of fabric needed for your size.

  • Sizing & Fit

    Maya is wearing a size 2 with a broad shoulder adjustment. The bodice was lengthened by 1.5", the skirt by 2.5", and the sleeves by 2.5". Her measurements are 33 1/2”, 26”, 37”, and she is 5’ 10”.

    Crosby is wearing a size 18 with a broad shoulder and bicep adjustment. The sleeves have been lengthened by 1.5". Her measurements are 47", 39", 51.5" and she is 5'10".

    Our Misses patterns are drafted for a C cup and our Curvy patterns are drafted for DD. Both are drafted for a height of 5'8" (172 cm).
