Fabric & Supplies

The Benning pattern works with so many different fabrics and is the perfect canvas to play with with color-blocking, prints, and textured fabrics. Have fun with your fabric!

Fabrics to shop:
Sew Benning in lightweight or medium-weight wovens, like chambray, linen, cotton lawn, batiste, shirting, double gauze, and rayon challis.

Fabrics to avoid:
While it might be tempting to use denim for this dress, the tiers will become heavy. For a denim look, choose chambray instead.
