Meet Cal! You’ll want to wear this pajama set every night—or even for lounging during the day. The Cal set includes a racer-back tank top and semi-fitted boxer shorts. The tank has a scoop neckline, a placket for snaps or buttons, and a curved hem. The shorts have a faux fly.

Learn to Sew Knit Pajamas

Here’s what you’ll need for this project:


  • Cal pattern

  • Light to medium weight knit fabric with at least 50% stretch

  • All-purpose polyester sewing thread

  • Ballpoint sewing machine needle

  • 1/4 yard of lightweight knit fusible interfacing

  • 4 or 5 ⅜” buttons or snaps

  • 1 ⅜ yards of 1” wide knit elastic

  • safety pin

  • Optional: ballpoint twin needle
